Hello! And welcome to Brenda Smail Interiors. This is my first post where I get to introduce myself to you and tell you a little bit about my philosophy as an Interior Designer. I was once on the other side of this equation, looking at websites belonging to interior designers. I loved looking at home interiors in magazines and movies, going on home tours, and peering into houses while on evening walks when the lights shone brightly and I could catch a glimpse of how they were decorated.
When I made the leap and decided to pursue a career in interior design, I knew that my instincts and good taste were not enough. I wanted to do things thoroughly and right. I have always placed a high value on education, and there was no reason for me to change my views with respect to the profession of Interior Design. An Interior Designer is a professional. Being a member of the American Society of Interior Designers shows this commitment to professionalism with education and experience required for membership, and continuing education required to sustain it.
I could go on and on about how valuable the services of a professional Interior Designer are when designing and furnishing your home. Instead, I will leave you with one thought that struck me while I was in school — I didn’t know how much I didn’t know.
I am excited to begin this adventure of providing assistance to homeowners during the exciting process of making their house a home. And I am confident that I know how much I know, and am happy to share that knowledge with you!
