To me, interior design is about making a house into a home. The space must belong to the client and serve their functions and style. Good design is about putting all of the pieces together so that the end result is both functional and beautiful while maintaining the personality of the occupants of the space. I am also extremely adept at making spaces appealing to broader audiences for the purposes of staging and re-sale.
I started my career in the business world after graduating from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. After moving to the US and raising three children, I decided to follow my passion and returned to college to get a degree in Interior Design. While attending classes, I worked part-time at industry partners around the Twin Cities in order to gain knowledge of the business and standard practices. Following graduation I worked as an in-house Interior Designer at At Home and Co. in Edina. My education combined with my practical work experience and life experience of moving around the country and designing and renovating many homes has given me insight and inspiration to start my own interior design business.
